What does it measure?

The Citations dashboard, under Dashboards then AI Visibility, aggregates citation activity across supported AI experiences: cited pages, grounding queries, share of authority and AI-referred traffic trends. Data is refreshed daily with a short delay. Domain ownership verification through Bing Webmaster Tools or Google Search Console may be required.

How does it relate to Bing’s grounding?

Clarity explains that grounding connects generative models to current information on the web, and that Microsoft’s grounding builds on Bing, serving Microsoft AI experiences and partner platforms. The dashboard thus complements Bing Webmaster Tools’ AI Performance report.

How do you use it?

Cross-check grounding queries with the AI Performance report to find topics where the site is cited, then compare with strategic pages. The figures reflect the supported AI experiences, not every engine: they replace neither multi-engine tracking nor existing SEO tools.

Frequently asked questions

Is Clarity’s share of authority a Google metric?

No, it is that tool’s own measure. It should be kept apart from authority measures from other platforms.

Do you need to install the Clarity code?

The dashboard is set up with the Clarity tracking code or by connecting Bing Webmaster Tools or Search Console, according to the tool’s documentation.
